I agree with basil. But I want to add some comments. Does humans deserves to live? That's the main question now. Who deserves and who does not? Sacrifice who and save who? See Morediscussing about the end of the world, actually it is just the end of humans, like the dinosaurs extinct, but the earth still remains and we humans are their successors. Undeniably, a successor is the predecessor as well. Dinosaurs which are reptiles, succeeded as dominant species from insects and microorganisms during early stages of this planet. It takes hundreds of thousands of year for dinosaurs to replace those early life form and became the dominant species. We humans get a chance to become the dominant species of this planets thanks to the extinction of the dinosaurs due to their poor knowledge of physics. I can say if a meteor tends to hit the earth, knocking it out of the orbit, we humans have the advance weapon like nuclear missile to destroy the meteor before it successfully hits the earth. Unfortunately, the dinosaurs have no such knowledge. The earliest proof of existence of men, for my shallow knowledge, it's the Peking Man, which was possibly living about 400,000 to 700,000 years ago. A new species replaces its predecessors as dominant species is normal for a planet to achieve equilibrium. If a species survive too long, there will be many considerable side effects to the solar system. Dinosaurs lived for more than hundreds of millions of years, yet their animal civilization ends facing the wrath of nature. We humans parasited on this planet for only estimated to be 700,000 years and we have caused more destruction and pollution than the dinosaurs which lived for more than hundreds of millions of years. So do you think nature can tolerate our "survival"? I suppose a co-existence can only be achieve by our tolerance to natural resources that we should reduce the use of it. May I suggest we don't use tissue paper instead we wash the dirt? We car pooling to a certain destination for a significant purpose rather than driving here and there without important purpose creating CO gas? For boys, why not we don't wear shirt at hot days better than using air-conditioner which produce CFC which worsen the thinning of ozone layer, and further spoiling our adaptability to the rising of temperature. My comment here mean no offense to anyone. I apologize for any mistaken opinion.

U are welcome. I am very happy for nature to have a human such as u. Although the world leaders and environmentalists are discussing about the pollution problem, but all of them are mistaken for their assurance of the survival rights of humans. They only think of survival of themselves, not the survival of this planet. Earth support lives for ... See Moremillions or billions of species, and we can say Earth is one in a million among the planets which can support life. We humans do not deserve to consume this planets for our own selfishness. Maybe the bible is right that God created us, he as well expressed his love to us that we are his best creation, but that love cannot be used as an excuse for our full consumption of this planet. Disturbing natural cycle and even hastening the stellar cycle is the greatest sin that a being could have done. From my point of view, our "efforts" in destroying this planet, will not be forgiven by God, not even if we trust him, we love him, we go to church every Sunday, we do good deeds everyday. I take for granted that God has an appearance of a human. God is loving and He can sacrifice his eye to save all men's eye, but He can't sacrifice other people's eye to save another. Our selfishness and destruction to earth cannot be forgiven at the cost of other species's survival. I am emphasizing here that don't blame God for not blessing our survival and for our extinction in the future, we cause it so we must accept the consequences. For those christian who think that God create earth for men's disposal, u are totally wrong. I believe the sentence "all men are brothers" is right, that we should love our species, stop killing each other, but loving our environment is more important than loving each other. Loving humans only, signify our ignorance to the existence of other species, importance of other life, our selfishness and arrogance. But loving nature (human is a part of nature) is the true teaching of any religion and I personally believe that's the true "love" God is trying to makes us realize. I apologize for my opinion that all of it are my personal views. I mean no offense to any party involved in my opinion.

Zzzz.... Ok basil. Electricity is renewable. Usage of electricity doesn't pollute the environment. Just the way those electricity is produced either using a environmental friendly generator or a non-environmental friendly generator. Whether we use it or not, the station is still running.
